(London.CityRegions.com, April 29, 2013 ) Norwich, UK -- Conservatories are definitely the craze for 2013, with new installations being erected up and down the country. With a range of styles and designs homeowners are attracted to the unique look they can create, combined with the extra space provided.
With the housing market struggling in recent times and many homeowners now looking to stay put, conservatories have sky rocketed in interest. Thousands of pounds must now be paid in solicitor fees, estate agent payments and stamp duty when moving home, which has switched people’s attention to extending their property instead.
And conservatories offer excellent benefits. Not only do they provide homeowners with valuable space to use throughout the year, in both summer and winter, but an installation will add over £9,000 to a property’s value. This is a win-win situation, providing short and long term advantages.
The continued popularity of conservatories is backed by Quotatis’ reports. The consumer matching service highlights over 62,000 online searches for conservatories in March, with installations popular in the South East (8,299), Greater London (7,855) and the North West (6,777). Conservatories Scotland are also proving very popular
On top of this, online searches increased in all of the UK’s regions for conservatories. The South East enjoyed the greatest rise (14%) from February to March and experts predict conservatories will continue their popularity well into the summer months.
This interest in conservatories is also backed by Quotatis’ very own enquiry statistics. Since the start of 2013, there have been 4,400 conservatory enquiries throughout the UK, with uPVC conservatories being extremely popular.
Tom Crosswell, Quotatis’ Head of Marketing said: “Conservatories have always been one of the most popular products we offer. The popularity of conservatories can often be attributed to the fact they can be used as you wish.
“A conservatory can serve as a room to relax in at the end of the day, a dining room, garden room or even a playroom for children, with easy access to the outside world. On top of this there are a number of designs and styles, meaning people don’t have to conform to the norm.
“Victorian, Edwardian and lean-to conservatories are all very popular for one reason or another, whether it’s aesthetic appeal, budget or size. With a choice in material too, from uPVC to aluminium and hardwood, conservatories offer the ultimate in choice.”
