(London.CityRegiions.com, February 06, 2013 ) Handforth, U.K -- James Brown, a celebrity hair stylist, is in the newest famous face to talk about the impact of losing his own hair and the impact it has had on him personally.
The hairdresser, whose clientele have included the likes of Kate Moss, Sienna Miller, and Emma Watson, says he first noticed his hair beginning to thin in his early twenties. It took another 20 years before he found the confidence he needed to seek the professional help he craved.
Because of that choice, an following a successful transplant of hair, Brown has decided to openly talk about the agony he felt while losing his locks.
Brown stated in an interview that: “I live [my life] going through airports, from LA to London, and I used to panic about having to go through airport security. It got to the point when it was so bad, I didn't want to take my hat off. Those minutes before going through security and taking my hat off, they were torture for me.”
No every person reacts poorly to losing hair, and others have little-to-no interest in making moderations to the natural process of losing hair; however, for those like Brown it can be a troubling experience. In fact, in a new study, researchers revealed that the loss of hair can trigger psychological breakdowns and deep bouts of depression for long periods of time.
Researchers also noted that the negative effects could lead to prolonged periods of low self-esteem and trigger body dysmorphic disorders.
Doctors noted that an “enormous emotional burden” can accompany the loss of hair, and it is not always easy to turn that problem around when it comes to the depth of despair that can be felt.
According to a major study, male pattern baldness is the main cause of hair loss, and affects 25% of men by the age of 30, and 66% of men by the age of 60 years of age.
While there are some men who are fine with their hair loss, there are undoubtedly those who do not deal with the loss well.
