(London.CityRegions.com, August 11, 2013 ) London, UK -- Prince William and Kate Middleton had their baby almost a month ago, but the gifts for the new parents and their baby continue to roll in. Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg sent William and Kate many bags of coffee. According to Clegg, it is to be able to keep up with young little boys.
PETA, the animal-advocacy group sent Prince George a care package full of cruelty-free items, including a faux-sheepskin baby blanket, cruelty-free faux gras and vegan caviar. PETA’s UK Associate Director Mimi Bekhechi explained the reasoning behind the gift basket, telling E! Online that babies love animals, and giving the baby a blanket in which no animal was harmed is a positive way to start a lifetime compassion for animals.
Although Kate and William are grateful for the gifts and appreciate everything that is given to them, they urge people to give to charities instead of sending gifts. In a statement on their website, the royal couple asked that in their generous spirit, they take the time to look to support those more in need, as a way of marking the birth of their child.
